Lizzo Fans Bash Lizzo for Trying to Get Healthy...

The 32 year old American singer who’s well known for her music received negative feedback on her pursuit to help reset her digestion issues. Fans support Lizzo for her plus-size body image, which goes against the Hollywood stereotype. However her fan’s had a lot to say about Lizzo’s 10 day health- detox experiment.

Lizzo posted on her social media profile:

“So I did the 10-day smoothie detox and as you know I would normally be so afraid and ashamed to post things like this online because I feel like as a big girl people just expect if you are doing something for health you’re doing it for like a dramatic weight loss,” the “Truth Hurts” singer explained Monday in a video posted to social media. “And that is not the case.”

Lizzo responded with:

“I’m so proud of myself, I’m proud of my results,” the 32-year-old said in the video. “My sleep has improved, my hydration, my inner peace, my mental stability, my f***ing body, m f***ing skin, the whites of my eyes. Like I feel and look like a bad b****.”

However, Lizzo fan’s weren’t supportive of her choice to get healthy. Lizzo admits her plan was to address her digestion issues, but her fan’s bashed Lizzo for ditching her plus-size is beautiful beliefs in the purist to lose weight.

Weight loss was simply the side affect of getting healthier, and Lizzo admits she fells so much better, her skin looks better, and she fells like she has more energy.

But Why Are Nutritionalist Bashing Lizzo?

Health professionals are claiming detox is a hoax, and it’s damaging when celebrities try these diets becuase there’s no such thing as a “Detox Diet.’

It’s true, we have organs like the liver, stomach, intestines,  and kidney’s that perform detox functions. Essentially, water and time is probably the best detox diet, but supplying your body with hydration, nutrients, and vitamins is great!

What's Science Based Fitness Conclusion?

We support Lizzo’s initiative to become healthier. Personally, we believe it’s a shame Lizzo cannot take initiative to address her health issues. The celebrity receives a lot of support being a plus-size model, singer, and personality, but that shouldn’t define her, or the primary reason Lizzo receives your support. If you have health problems, changing your diet is the first step to improving your health. Simply put, people feel comfort with a successful plus-size singer in an industry that promotes beauty and unrealistic body standards. However, there’s a major difference between beauty standards and improving one’s health.
